Mechanical Part

1.Single and double rollers system

This is double roller, located in double roller bed. Main function is driving logs rotate. Its power comes from the double roller motors and reducers in 2 sides by chains transmission. Double roller has different grains and diameters according to different requirements.

This is single roller, located in single roller bed. Main functions are match with and press log rotate  and peel the logs match with peeling knife.  Its power comes from single roller motors  and reducers, through chains transmission. Single roller has different grains and diameter according to needs. And has different vertical knife position to cut the veneer edge.

2.Knife feeding system (forward and backward)

These are feeding motor and reducer, controlled by inverters.

These are leading screw and screw nut.

And here is the guiding rail, which knife carriage forward and backward on it.

During peeling, single and double rollers fix the logs tightly and drive logs to rotate. Feeding motor and reducer drive lead screw and screw nut moving on guide rail, to peel the logs. And feeding motor also in charge of the knife carriage quickly forward and backward.

3.Peeling knife

Knife located in the knife carriage, close with single roller, pushed by a row knife pressing board, fixed tightly on the knife carriage, keeping knife stable and not move.

The knife needs to be sharpened and changed regular. According to different knife thickness, knife carriage angle and log kind, peeling knife will be sharpened with different angle and slop.

In the meanwhile, depending on different veneer thickness, machine need match with different knife height and knife gap.

Knife gap means the distance between single roller and knife. Check the list delivered with the machine.

4.Veneer cutting and conveyor system

Cutting system is combine with rotated cutting knife and rotated rubber roller. The cutting power from cutting motor and roller, controlled by inverter, through chains transmit the power.

Rubber roller power comes from conveyor motor.

When veneer peeled and transferred through cutting system, the cutting knife cuts the veneer according to the set width and transfer out  the veneers. The system keeps running and we get the veneer with same thickness and width.

5.The knife gap adjust system

When we peel different thickness veneers, we should adjust the knife height and knife gap. When we make the machine opening distance at 100mm,  we call the gap between single roller and knife as “Current Knife Gap”

This machine adjusts knife gap with servo motors, replaced manual adjustment, more convenient and visual and smart.

This is the servo motor in the right side and speed decrease part, adjusted by screw and screw nut, and fix/loose it on single roller bed. When need to be adjusted, loose the fixing parts on single roller bed, and makes the single roller bed move forward or backward by rotary screw but driving by the servo motor. Then, the knife gap becomes bigger or smaller.

Left parts are adjusted in the same way. We can adjust both sides together or separately.

Adjustment finished, single roller bed needs to be fixed to keep single roller bed and knife carriage fixed and not move.

6.The hydraulic and pneumatic system

Hydraulic system consists of hydraulic box, hydraulic valve, hydraulic pipes and hydraulic cylinder, they tight and loose the peeling knife fast. It makes knife changing more efficient and time saving than manual one.

Hydraulic system also controls fasting and loosing the single roller bed.

Pneumatic system consists of external air resource, solenoid valve, pipes, and air cylinder.

Air cylinder is for the automatic remove the small log left when log peeling finished. Please notice: external air must be isolate with water. Because moist compressed air will influence air cylinders’ service life and affects it. When the cylinder is being changed, make sure cylinder won’t touch peeling knife when it stretch out to prevent damages.

7.Ancillary guide system

The whole single roller bed is fixed on the adjustment arm in 2 sides, the adjustment arms are fixed on the knife carriage turning axle, it can turn with small angle along the ancillary guide rail.

This design is different diameter logs.

While peeling, log diameter turns smaller, adjustment arm swing up slightly, single roller become lower gradually and knife gap become smaller gradually. This is why we adjust and confirm the knife gap only when the opening distance is 100mm. And the knife height and knife gap adjustment date form we suggested also depending on the opening distance of 100mm.

Before machine delivery, we already corrected the ancillary guide and no need to change. Because the ancillary guide should keep balance 2 sides. It’s hard to get high quality veneer when 2 sides have different different stress.

8.The spare parts need lubricating

The following parts need keep lubricating.

Reducers: include single and double roller, feeding motor, cutting and conveyor. We suggest lubricate with engine oil, and oil exceed the oil inspect window on the reducer.

The chains, include the chains of single and double roller, feeding motor, cutting and conveyor. We suggest use suits engine oil and lubricating grease.

Feeding leading screw nut and guide rail. Keep enough engine oil lubricating during peeling. Keep clean to prevent mechanical parts breaking.

Knife gap adjustment screw and nut o, we recommend regular oil lubrication.

Bearings: include single and double roller and all the rotated parts. We suggest lubricating grease regularly.We suggest lubricating the single and double roller bearings with grease every 1-2days. Lubricating through the hole with grease gun.

Standing at the operation position, facing to the conveyor, we call left side LEFT, right side RIGHT, conveyor side FRONT and operation side BACK of the machine. It is convenient  for us to post the machine in the future.
